What is Logic Fabric?
The platform in five minutes, covering the problem it solves, the products in the family and who uses them.
Logic Fabric is a family of products for Microsoft Dataverse and Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement that lets functional consultants design business logic, long-running processes and APIs without writing code. Everything you build is a typed, named artifact stored in your environment, so the same definition is what you review, what you test and what runs.
The problem it solves
Section titled “The problem it solves”Dataverse gives you tables, forms, security and simple business rules out of the box. Real projects quickly need more: a discount that depends on segment and region, a validation that spans several tables, an approval that splits into parallel reviews, an API for a customer portal. Traditionally that work turns into plug-ins and custom code, and the business intent ends up spread across specifications, code and people’s memory.
Logic Fabric closes that gap:
- Business logic is modelled, not coded. Formulas, decision tables, validations and multi-step flows are built in visual editors with a shared expression language.
- Logic runs inside the platform. Recipes attach your logic to the create, update and delete of any table, in the same transaction when you need it to be.
- Processes and APIs reuse the same logic. A business process stage or an API calls the blocks and flows you already have.
- Changes are safe to move. Projects are exported, versioned and imported between environments with the Logic Fabric CLI.
- AI can help, and can use your logic. AI assistants can design and review logic with you, and run it as governed tools.

AI · DesignLogic FoundryAn MCP server that lets your AI assistant read, create and update Logic Fabric artifacts.
AI · RunLogic ConductorAn MCP server that turns the blocks, flows and processes you flag into tools an AI agent can run.
AI · AssistLogic AgentsSpecialised agents that author, document, test, review and audit your projects.
| Product | What it does | Typical users |
|---|---|---|
| Logic Composer | Builds reusable logic: logic blocks (formula, decision table, decision tree, validation, validation set), logic flows, and the recipes, events and schedules that run them. | Functional consultants |
| Process Orchestrator | Models business processes as stages, gateways and ends, assigns work, tracks every instance and escalates overdue stages. | Functional consultants, process owners |
| Logic API | Publishes versioned REST APIs over Dataverse, with access control per action. | Consultants, integration teams |
| Expression language | The shared set of values and functions used everywhere a value or condition is needed. | Everyone who designs |
| Logic Fabric CLI | Moves projects between environments and automates deployment. | ALM and release owners |
| Logic Foundry | Connects an MCP-capable AI assistant to Logic Fabric so it can design with you. | Consultants using AI assistants |
| Logic Conductor | Exposes your logic as tools that AI agents can run, under the user’s own security. | AI and integration teams |
| Logic Agents | Six agents: Logic Assist, Logic Context, Logic Assurance, Logic Guard, Logic Insights and Logic Sentinel. | Consultants, testers, reviewers, security owners |

Every artifact belongs to a project, and every project is tied to a Dataverse solution. Logic Composer provides the building blocks; Process Orchestrator and Logic API reuse them. The expression language is the same wherever you write a condition or a value. See Core concepts for the full vocabulary.
Who it is for
Section titled “Who it is for”- Functional consultants and designers model rules, flows and processes in the designers, using the same terms the business uses.
- Solution architects decide what belongs in Logic Fabric and what belongs in other parts of the Microsoft platform. See Logic Fabric and the Microsoft ecosystem.
- Release and ALM owners package projects and promote them with the CLI.
- Security and quality owners use the agents to test, review and audit what was built.
Two editions
Section titled “Two editions”Logic Fabric is available for Dataverse (Power Platform, in the cloud) and for Dynamics 365 CE on-premises. The designers and behaviour are the same; a few labels differ, and some cloud-only features are not available on-premises. See Editions.
