Crafting a New Business Process

Embarking on the creation of a new business process is a critical step towards establishing an efficient operational framework. This journey begins with setting up a draft environment, where you can meticulously model your business process. It involves adding various stages, implementing guards for process integrity, and meticulously connecting the workflow elements. This results in a comprehensive blueprint, which, once published and activated, becomes the standard template for all new instances of the process.

Step 1

To initiate this process, start by filling out the essential properties:

  • Name: Assign a unique and descriptive name to your process.
  • Project: Specify the project or department this process is associated with.
  • Process Entity: Define the main entity that the process will interact with or manage.
  • Trigger Type: Choose between Synchronous or Asynchronous creation, which determines how the process is initiated and executed.
  • Description: Provide a concise summary that outlines the purpose and scope of the process.

Once these fundamental properties are set, proceed to the process designer to complete additional necessary properties like:

  • Title (English/Arabic): Ensure the process is easily identifiable and accessible in both languages.
  • Process Instance Owner: Designate the individual or team responsible for overseeing the process instance.
  • Due Date: Set a timeline for the process completion or review.

With these steps completed, you are now fully equipped to dive into designing your business process. This design phase is where your strategic vision comes to life, transforming your initial ideas into a functional and effective business process.
